We had our second summer camp and it was a huge success! Twenty kids attended our camp to learn how to program in Python using Micro: Bits. They learned how to create a digital dice, magic 8 ball, rock, paper, and scissors game. Our summer camp was on July 20, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM with an hour’s lunch in between. At the end of the camp, we had a competition to see who could expand best on their code based on what they learned and the coders evaluated them to see which one they liked best. The top 5 winners received $25 Amazon gift cards. We had the 615 Coders leaders help us manage the kids. However, our 615 Coders are the ones who taught this course to the students and explained it to them in a manner that was very easy to understand. Our coders were the best teachers and the kids had so much fun! We are grateful to MEDHOST, Inc. for lending us their meeting rooms to host this camp. Overall, there were many people involved in making this camp the best it could be. It was an incredible experience and we hope to do it again next year!
